This live, participatory, virtual course prepares participants with the knowledge, skills, and tools to effectively integrate gender and inclusion in project design, proposal development, and new business development processes.
Learning objectives:
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Explain gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) foundational concepts and frameworks for project design
- Acquire tools and strategies to support integrating GESI in business development processes
- Examine key donors’ GESI policies and priorities and apply them to proposal development
- Access GESI resources, data, and information for customising proposals

This course is ideal for both experienced and rising global development practitioners who work on gender and inclusion and/or business development and proposals. If you are seeking tools and strategies for integrating gender and inclusion in proposals and in organisational business development processes, this course is for you!
What will participants get out of this?
Following the course, participants will have the tools and know-how to integrate gender and inclusion in project design and proposals, as well as best practices to apply to their organisational business development processes. All participants will receive:
- 15 hours of live facilitation with an experienced trainer and practitioner
- All training participants receive a shared resource drive with key templates and resources.
- Opportunities to learn with and from up to 15 other practitioners and researchers from around the world.
- An invitation to join the Fabulous Feminists network.
When will the course be held?
The course will be held over five days in Spring 2025. 9:30am-1pm EST / 3:30-7pm CET each day with a 30 minute break. It will be facilitated via Zoom.
How much does it cost?
Two prices are available, based on a redistributive pricing model. This means if your organisation has more resources, you’ll pay more so that we are able to fund lower fees and scholarships for individuals who have less resources. The higher rates for Tier 1 help to make sure we can fund scholarships.

About the facilitator Emily
Emily B. Brown is an international development consultant and gender equality and inclusion expert with 15+ years of experience. Currently, Emily is the founder and principal of EBB Tide International Consulting LLC where she works with international NGOs and donors, such as the Millennium Challenge Corporation, Deloitte, Counterpart International, and Land O’Lakes Venture37, to provide strategic advice and technical assistance related to project design and business development, gender and inclusion analysis and research, training and facilitation, and organisational gender mainstreaming.
In her career, Emily has conducted and supported 20+ gender and inclusion analyses and advised on dozens of proposals for bilateral, multilateral, and private sector requests up to US $200 million across a range of sectors, including health, education, agriculture, food security and nutrition, civil society and governance, adolescents and youth, and more. She is well versed in bilateral and global policies and frameworks for gender equality, women’s empowerment, inclusive development, positive youth development, and women’s and children’s rights.
