WOMEN IN TOURISM
Our vision is to leverage the potential of the tourism sector to enhance women's lives around the world in employment, entrepreneurship, leadership and decision-making, education and communities.
We provide extensive follow-up, including mutual learning sessions and membership of an active peer network.
The Fabulous Feminist approach to tourism is holistic, offering support for a range of activities: research and gender analysis; developing gender equality plans; technical support for gender-responsive procurement; and providing capacity development for stakeholders across the tourism sector.

“I have been interested in women in tourism since I worked as a holiday rep and tour leader after completing my degree in 2000. My PhD research focussed on women in tourism in Central America, following which I published a range of peer review articles on the topic.
I strongly believe that tourism can be a global force for women’s empowerment – through decent work, respect for human rights, and gender-responsive procurement practices.”
