What
The programme is made up of three components – You as an individual leader, You and your team, and you and the broader ecosystem.
IN PART 1 – THE INDIVIDUAL – participants will:
- Take stock of themselves as a leader
- Reflect on their leadership journeys and how this has interacted with their personal lives
- Explore challenges and opportunities for achieving individual leadership goals
IN PART 2 – THE TEAM – participants will:
- Discuss different leadership styles and how these interact with gender
- Identify barriers to retaining diverse talent
- Tackle bias and stereotypes in the workplace
IN PART 3 – THE ECOSYSTEM – participants will:
- Learn about gender equality and diversity in the tourism private sector
- Understand the challenges and opportunities for women in the tourism sector
- Set out clear actions for making a difference in tourism

Who
This Programme is for high potential women leaders in the travel, tourism and hospitality sector. Participants will have experience of managing teams and/or programmes, and be committed to making an impact in the sector through their leadership.
It is developed and facilitated by recognised leaders in the field Alessandra Alonso MSc, MBA, FRSA (Director of Women in Travel CIC) and Dr Lucy Ferguson (Fabulous Feminists).

How
- Online preparatory session (90 minutes) – introduction to the programme, getting to know each other, review of preparatory project, approximately two weeks before in-person training
- 3-day in-person retreat style programme, including cultural and educational programme
- Online follow-up session (90 minutes) – reflection on learnings, explore how these have been put into practice, peer exchange on remaining challenges and support needed, approximately six weeks after the in-person component
